ROADWORKS will cause overnight disruption in four Colchester roads.

Bourne Road, Wimpole Road, Military Road and Old Heath Road will all be affected and the work is set to take 40 nights.

The closures are due to come into effect on Tuesday, August 31, from 7pm until 5am.

It is while traffic signal installation works are carried out by Essex County Council.

* Look out for roadworks in Artillery Street, Colchester.

It will shut for three days from Tuesday, August 31, from its junction with Kimberley Road.

It is while new connection works are carried out by Anglian Water.

* Openreach is carrying out work in Thorrington.

Church Road is shutting on September 1, while underground network works are carried out.

However, an alternative route is available via Church Road, Station Road and Clacton Road.

* Prepare for another overnight road closure in Colchester.

East Street will shut from its junctions with East Bay and Ipswich Road, from September 3 to 6.

The closure will come into effect from 7pm until 5am while waterproofing works are carried out by Essex County Council.

* Openreach is also working in Dowling Road, Mount Bures.

It will lead to the road closing on September 2, while pole testing works are undertaken.

* Pole replacement works are being carried out by UK Power Networks in Fossetts Lane, Fordham.

The road will shut from its junction with Rams Farm Lane on September 3.

* Cadent is planning roadworks in Little Clacton.

It means Harwich Road is closing overnight for two nights from Tuesday, August 31, from 7pm until 6am.

* Drivers should be aware of two Sunday road closures in Nayland Road, Great Horkesley.

The road is closing from its junction with Blackbrook Road on September 5 and 12, while new connection works are carried out by Anglian Water.

* Stockwell/East Stockwell Street, in Colchester, will be closed to traffic on September 5.

It is while new connection works are carried out by Cadent.

* Look out for a road closure in Lawford.

Colchester Road is shutting from its junction with Mill Hill, on Sunday, August 22, while new connection works are undertaken by Cadent.

It is while pole replacement works are carried out but an alternative route is available via Old Ipswich Road, Wick Lane, Dead Lane and Harts Lane.

* A road in Langham is closing for two days from Monday, August 16.

High Street will shut near its junction with Greyhound Hill, while duct laying works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available for drivers via High Street, Chapel Road and Moor Road.

* Pipe laying works will force the closure of Talcott Road/Firlie Walk, in Colchester.

The closure comes into effect from Monday, August 16, for 19 days, but an alternative route is available via Queen Elizabeth Way.
