DOGS, their owners and police officers teamed up to offer advice on looking after canines.
PC Jed Raven, who is Essex Police's rural wildlife and heritage crime officer, accompanied the community policing team in Dovercourt on Wednesday for the public dog advice event.
Officers were also joined by the Tendring Council dog warden and Terry Fowles from Essex Dog Watch.
The team was based at the Dovercourt seafront area and they spoke with residents, dog walkers and an adorable pup called Frankie PC Raven is pictured holding.
The team offered advice on basic dog control in a public place to help combat dog on dog attacks as well as the importance of cleaning up after your dog.
They were also on hand to check whether visitors' dogs had the correct microchip implanted.
Crime prevention advice regarding preventing dog theft was also covered during the afternoon.
A spokesman for the force said: "Future Rural events are being planned for Manningtree, Walton and Clacton."
