COLCHESTER United fans returned to the JobServe Community Stadium for the first time in seven months last night.

U's supporters were back at the venue for their side's pre-season friendly against Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

Goals from Heung-min Son, Lucas and Dele saw Spurs claim a 3-0 victory.

But that could not dampen the spirits of the thousands of U's fans who were making a welcome return to the stadium, after many months away.

Here are some of the reflections of Colchester supporters, after they made a welcome return to the JCS.

Was so good to be back, after a long enforced absence. The score line doesn’t tell the whole story. The squad looked well drilled and the foundations look very positive. The big test will be Saturday against a more equal opponent.

That’s what I’ve missed. This is my life this is what I live for. Great support for a pre season game,

Yes it was against spurs but anyway we can see what Mullins is building here and I thought we were the better team for 60 minutes or so. Bring on the season

Was amazing to be back, ticket process actually worked really well, felt comfortable in the stadium but most importantly was just good to be back inside and cheering on the team. Can’t way for the season to start! Up the U’s

Just makes you realise how much football means to everyone !! Great to be back shoreline really doesn’t matter some great performances and on another night or another opposition we could have easily had 3 goals ! Bring on the season

Fantastic to be back. This is the sort of thing I’ve missed over the last 7 months and it really means a lot to be back in a ground again and to see everyone. The atmosphere was brilliant. Looking forward to the new season already. Up the u’s
