POLICE officers rescued a tiny duckling who had lost its mum and become stranded in a busy road in Colchester.
Children and Young Persons Officers PCs Metcalfe and Clough were out conducting enquiries in the town on Tuesday morning when they were flagged down by children from Oxford House School, in Lexden Road.
Youngsters had spotted the duckling running in and out of the road "looking very lost".

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "PC Metcalfe scooped him up and he was given a police escort to Colne Valley Veterinary Practice, where he was handed to Rhiannon, who assured us they will do their very best to look after him.
"We’ve decided to name him Oxford."
