THE majority of Gazette readers have said they would support mandatory mask use in enclosed spaces after July 19’s Freedom Day.
It comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he recommends people wear a face covering in crowded and enclosed spaces.
Abbie Shannon said: “It depends how crowded it is. I’ll be glad to not have to as I find them hard to breathe in, but I’m double jabbed and would prefer to keep social distancing.
“If I think its really crowded then I think it’s sensible.”
Dylan Calvert added: “As long as it keeps me safe and helps others to keep safe too then I’ll do it. You’ve got to think of others, not just yourself.”
And Lynda Vincent said: “I will carry on as I’ve been the healthiest I’ve ever been. I’m double jabbed and I don’t fancy a ventilator as an alternative.”
However, Carrie Stover said: “I’m done, I’m double jabbed so it’s time to get back to normal.
“We could be in a car crash but we still go out - life is for living.”
And James Pearce added: “This doesn’t sound like Freedom Day to me.
“I’m surprised given how little evidence there is that masks have been of any benefit whatsoever.”
