DRIVERS will face a seven mile diversion as a historic bridge closes for investigation works.
Essex Highways is closing Boxted Bridge, in Wick Road, from Monday, July 5 to Friday, July 9.
This is so investigations can take place into the bridge's foundations.
There will be a diversion in place for drivers whilst the works are ongoing.
The route, about seven miles long, takes drivers down Horkesley Road and through Nayland before heading into Stoke-by-Nayland towards Stratford St Mary.
Access will be maintained for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
