POLICE have confirmed a man has been charged following a collision which saw a man sustain life-changing injuries.
Adam West, 40, will appear in court next month to face charges in connection with a serious road traffic collision which occurred in Colchester.
West, of Harvey Road, Colchester is facing charges of careless driving and drug driving according to Essex Police.
It comes after officers were called to reports of a collision in Cunobelin Way at around 3.30pm on January 27.
Reports say a silver Citroen Picasso and a pedestrian had been in a collision.
Following the incident, the pedestrian, a man in his 70s, was taken to hospital with injuries which were considered life-threatening.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "A man is due to appear in court next month to face charges in connection with a serious road traffic collision which occurred in Colchester where a man sustained life-changing injuries.
"He has now been summonsed to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on 9 July to face charges of careless driving and drug driving.”
