A WITNESS appeal has been launched after a man made inappropriate comments and approached a teenage girl in Witham.
The girl was walking along Conrad Road, near to the Cherry Tree pub, at about 11.25am on Wednesday.
A man approached her and made inappropriate comments.
He tried to touch her arm but the victim escaped and ran away.
The man has been described as as white, in his 60s, between 5ft 11ins and 6ft tall, with a ‘salt and pepper’ beard and wearing a red waterproof coat, and white trainers.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Our investigation is ongoing and officers have been carrying out CCTV and house-to-house enquiries.
"We know this will be a concerning incident and we will have visible patrols in the area."

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
