MOST of Colchester is now included on the Government's Covid hotspots map, the latest figures show.

The Government map highlights hotspots across the country, with areas which have seen more than three cases in the week to June 16 appearing on the map.

The majority of neighbourhoods in Colchester are once again highlighted on the map, with Covid cases rising across the borough.

Of the 20 areas in the borough, 15 are now included on the map.

The highest number of cases were seen in Greenstead, with 18 in this week, followed by New Town and Hythe with 14.

Five parts of the town recorded less than three cases in this week, meaning the virus is technically classed as "suppressed" in these parts of the borough.
