As things hopefully start to settle following the most difficult year for us all, we must continue to remember that staff in our NHS settings continue to deal with high levels of demand as services start to resume to more of a pre pandemic normality.
Staff have been affected mentality and physically by what they have experienced over the past year, they deserve our complete admiration.
As chair of ACE, I was only too pleased to agree financial support for the creation of a Memorial Garden at Clacton hospital as featured in your article (Gazette, June 14, “New garden will be a place for reflection”) .
This idea was initiated by staff at the site, as Anglian Community Enterprise ceases to be on June 30, it is wonderful that the garden will open on June 27 as a wonderful space for quiet reflection by staff, patients and family members.
We owe our NHS heroes so much and I am hoping that the garden will offer some much needed peace in times of stress and fatigue.
A great staff initiative.
