POLICE officers and a dog unit detained a group of men on suspicion of stealing items from Colchester shops.
Officers were called to Primark, in Colchester, to assist security in detaining four men in connection with theft.
One suspect was arrested, one was reported for offences and one remains under investigation.
The vehicle the men were using was also checked by officers who found it to be unsafe to drive.

The owner of the vehicle has now been ordered to have the car made safe.
He has also been fined.
A spokesman for Colchester's policing team said: "Over the weekend PCSO Compton from Colchester Town Proactive Team, along with officers from the local policing team, community team and a dog unit were called to Primark to assist security detaining four males."
