A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of burglary after he was found with stab wound following an incident in Colchester town centre in the early hours of the morning.

Emergency services were called to East Hill just before 5am on Friday.

When officers arrived at the scene a man in his 30s was found to have suffered a several injuries, including what police say is believed to be a stab wound.

The man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Residents reported seeing police at the scene in East Hill into the early afternoon on Friday.

Police say they are looking to trace two other males in connection with the incident.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "On arrival a man aged in his 30s was found at the scene and had sustained a number of injuries, including what is believed to be a stab wound.

"He was initially taken to hospital for treatment and subsequently discharged.

"He now remains in custody having been arrested on suspicion of burglary.

"We believe two other males were involved in the incident and we are actively looking for them at this time.

"We do not believe there is any wider threat to the public."
