A BANK branch will shut its doors for the final time on Friday.
HSBC is closing one of its branches in the town, in North Station Road, permanently due to the shift to online banking.
Staff will be transferred to other branches, such as the one in Colchester High Street.
The High Street branch has just undergone a ten-week renovation and is now back open to the public.
The National Federation of SubPostmasters says customers can also use Post Office branches in the town centre as an alternative for many banking services.
