Drivers were urged to avoid a road in Colchester after a fallen tree blocked the route.
Police were called to the scene in Fingringhoe Road this afternoon.
The road was closed both ways from Rectory Road to Speedwell Road.
Drivers were urged to use an alternative route if possible while a tree surgeon helped to clear the road.
