Colchester's MP Will Quince has urged people to get the Covid vaccine after having his first jab.

Mr Quince had the life-saving vaccine at the Jobserve Community Stadium today.

In a Tweet the Essex Partnership University Trust said: "Will Quince, MP for Colchester was pleased to receive his first dose of life-saving #NHSCovidVaccine at the Jobserve Community Stadium today.

"He urges others to do the same - if you're in one of the eligible groups, book online or call 119."

People aged 34 and over can book their Covid-19 jab from today, the NHS in England has said.

More than one million people aged 34 and 35 will receive a text message on Thursday or Friday asking them to make a vaccine appointment.

The NHS added that the jab rollout is expected to reach people in their early thirties “over the next few days and weeks” as the vaccine rollout gathers pace.
