DESIGNS for a new 150 home estate in a village have been approved.

Bellway Homes has received planning permission for a reserve matters application for the new estate, set to be built off Halstead Road, Eight Ash Green.

The site, which will include 30 per cent affordable homes, has been allocated for housing in Colchester Council's emerging Local Plan and Eight Ash Green's Neighbourhood Plan.

Access to the new estate will be created from Halstead Road and Fiddlers Hill whilst a new road, suitable for HGVs link Halstead Road, the A1124, with Fiddlers Hill.

Homes will be a mix of one, two, three and four-bed houses as well as bungalows and maisonettes.

Plans also include landscaping, open space, a play area and an outdoor gym.
