DRIVERS should be aware of an important road closure in Colchester.

Culver Street East is shutting from its junction with St Nicholas Street while the one-way restriction in the same road is being temporarily suspended, from its junctions with Queen Street and St Nicholas Street.

The closure is for one day on June 20, while surface reinstatement works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Queen Street, St Botolphs Street, St Botolphs Circus, Southway Westbound, Headgate, Head Street, High Street and St Nicholas Street.

* Beaconsfield Avenue, in Colchester, is shutting from its junctions with Maldon Road and Butt Road, for five days from June 18.

It is for carriageway patching works, but an alternative route is available via Maldon Road, Drury Road, Butt Road, Southway Westbound, the Maldon Road roundabout and Beaconsfield Avenue.

* Brook Street, in Colchester, is also closing for five days, from its junctions with East Street and Barrack Street. The closure comes into effect from June 14 and is while footway works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via East Street, Ipswich Road, Greenstead Road, the Greenstead roundabout, Elmstead Road, the Clingoe roundabout, Eastern Approach, the Hawkins Road roundabout, Lightship Way, Colne Causeway, the Haven Road roundabout, Haven Road, Depot Road, Hythe Quay, the Hythe Quay roundabout, Maudlyn Road, the Maudlyn Road roundabout, the Hythe Hill roundabout, Hythe Hill and Barrack Street.

* Drivers should be aware of a one-day road closure in Crepping Hall Road, Wakes Colne.

The road is shutting on June 15 while meter exchange works are undertaken by Anglian Water. You can take a detour via Colchester Road, Spring Gardens Road, Boarded Barn Road and Jankes Green Road.

* Errington Road, in Colchester, is shutting for three days from June 15.

The part affected runs from the junctions with Butt Road and Maldon Road.

It is because of carriageway patching works, but an alternative route is available via Maldon Road, Hamilton Road and Butt Road.

* Anglian Water are carrying out work in Great Horkesley. As a result, London Road and School Lane will both be closing for three days from June 15.

Drivers can take a detour via Coach Road, Old House Road, The Causeway, Nayland Road and London Road.

* A road in Clacton is closing for three days from June 8. Orwell Road is shutting from its junctions with Pallister Road and Rosemary Road, while carriageway repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

* Pudding Lane, in Birch, is shutting from its junctions with Birch Street and Garlands Road for 13 days from June 17.

It is while duct laying works are undertaken by Openreach. An alternative route is available via Birch Street, Garlands Road, Layer Breton Heath, Layer Breton Hill, Colchester Road, Layer Road, Church Road, Birch Road, Birch Park and Garlands Road.

* Stoneham Street, in Coggeshall, is shutting from its junction with Robinsbridge Road. The closure will last for two days for June 14, for works by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Tilkey Road, Westfield Drive, Gurton Road, Colne Road, St Peters Road, Church Green, Church Street and Stoneham Street.
