A MAN has denied posing as an air ambulance director to obtain vehicles worth more than £100,000.

Mark Kerbey has appeared in court to answer charges relating to alleged incidents in 2018 and 2019.

The 58-year-old of Brecon House, Westcliff, is alleged to have posed as a director of Trinity Road and Air Ambulance to obtain £19,072 worth of Apple devices on September 25, 2019.

It is also alleged that between September 1, 2018 and March 1, 2019 he posed as a director and claimed he could pay the leasing costs of five vehicles worth £120,442.

The third charge alleges that between November 20, 2018 and March 1, 2019 he claimed he would pay for mobile phones so he could obtain £7,065 worth of phones.

Kerbey appeared at Basildon Crown Court where he denied all three counts against him.

He previously appeared at Basildon Magistrates' Court on March 11 where the case was referred to crown court.

A trial date was set for August 22 next year, with a pre-trial review set for February 14, 2022.

Judge Samantha Cohen released Kerbey on unconditional bail until the next hearing.

Kerbey was advised that if he did not show up for his trial, it could be treated as a separate offence for which he could be prosecuted.
