A POLICE station was forced to temporarily close its doors after its reception area became flooded.

Essex Police’s Clacton Station, in Beatrice Road, shut to the public on Saturday due to its front counter being drenched in water.

After informing residents of the closure officers and team members worked to make the area safe before reopening the station on Sunday morning.

A spokesman for Essex Police Tendring said: “Our apologises for any inconvenience caused.”
