DRIVERS should be aware of a busy road closing in Colchester.

North Station Road is shutting for two consecutive Sundays, from the Essex Hall roundabout to the Albert roundabout.

It will be closed on May 23 and May 30, while new connection works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via North Station Road, the Essex Hall roundabout, Station Way, the Colne Bank Avenue roundabout, Colne Bank Avenue and the Albert roundabout.

* A Colchester road will be out of bounds for three days next month.

Abbots Road is shutting from its junctions with Mersea Road and Old Heath.

The closure is due to come into effect on May 24 for three days, while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Mersea Road, St Botolphs Circus, St Botolphs Street, Magdalen Street, Military Road, Old Heath Road and Whitehall Road.

* A village road just outside Colchester is closing for a day because of overhead cable works being undertaken by UK Power Networks.

Colchester Road, in Virley, is expected to be shut on May 26.

But an alternative route is available via Colchester Road, Whitehouse Hill, Station Road, North Street, Kelvedon Road, Oxley Hill, D’arcy Road, Factory Hill, Church Road, Maypole Road, Maldon Road, Orpens Hill, Warren Lane, Maldon Road South, Shrub End Road, Drury Road, Layer Road and High Road.

* A Tendring village road is closing for nearly three weeks while vehicle crossing works are undertaken by V & B Homes.

Mill Lane, in Weeley Heath, is shutting from its junction with Bentley Road.

The closure is due to come into effect on May 24 for 19 days.

But a diversion is available via Mill Lane, Bentley Road, Clacton Road and Rectory Road.

* Another village road in the Tendring area is closing for just over a fortnight.

Slough Lane, in Elmstead, will close from its junction with Carpenters Lane for 15 days from May 18, while duct laying works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Slough Lane, Clacton Road and Carpenters Lane.

* Drivers should make note of the fact they will soon temporarily be unable to turn left from Station Way onto the North Station roundabout.

The restriction is due to come into effect from May 26 for three nights, from 8pm until 6am.

It is because of cabling works being undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via North Station Roundabout, Northern Approach Road, Turner Road, Stanford Road and Mill Road.

* Carringtons Road, in Great Bromley, will shut for three days from May 10, while frame and cover replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

* You may want to avoid Chapel Street, in Rowhedge, on May 4.

The road is closing while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

* A reminder Brightlingsea High Street is closing from its junctions with Sydney Street and Tower Street on May 2.

It is while new connection works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
