A man has been arrested after police discovered cannabis plants being grown at a property in Colchester.
Officers made the discovery at the building in Hythe Station Road at 9am this morning.
One man has been arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.
He remains in police custody.
Police have yet to disclose how many cannabis plants were found.
Witnesses reported seeing a number of police vehicles outside the property this afternoon.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Officers will remain at the scene as our investigation continues.
"We would like to hear from anyone who has seen, or has footage of, anyone acting suspiciously in the area.
"Anyone with information should submit a report online at https://www.essex.police.uk or use the 'Live Chat' button to speak to an online operator between 7am-11pm.
"You can also call us on 101 and cite incident 211 of today, April 19."
