A PENSIONER has suffered life threatening injuries after she was struck by a HGV yesterday.
As previously reported, emergency services rushed to Mortimers Lane between the junctions of Winchester Road and Knowle Lane in Fair Oak just before 11am yesterday.
Police were called following reports of a collision between a HGV and a pedestrian.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area until the closures were lifted.
Police closed the road and remained on site until just before 3pm.
The pedestrian, a 94-year-old woman, suffered serious and life-threatening injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital.
No arrests have been made.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Police said: "Our officers were called at 10.24am yesterday (15 April) following reports of a collision on Mortimers Lane, Fair Oak, between a Heavy Goods Vehicle and a pedestrian.
"The pedestrian, a 94-year-old woman, suffered serious and life-threatening injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital; where she remains at this time. No arrests have been made."
