Mobile 'knife arch' deployed in town centre to catch criminals
A MOBILE knife arch was put in place in Colchester town centre to deter criminals from carrying weapons.
Officers from Colchester's community policing team were in Colchester over the weekend, patrolling various locations with the arch.
A knife arch is a portable metal detector frequently used to detect whether someone is carrying a blade.
A spokesman for the team said: "Working with security staff around the town we aim to keep everyone safe and catch criminals."
