A TEENAGER carried out and assault and resisted arrest before providing a false account to the police.

The teen, who cannot be named for legal reasons, assaulted his victim in Clacton in August last year.

After resisting arrest, the next day he provided a false account to the police and messaged the victim asking them not to proceed with the case.

The teenage boy admitted assault, resisting a police constable in the execution of their duty and perverting the course of justice.

The offender was released on bail until a hearing at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on April 23.

He will remain subject to a curfew and orders not to contact the victim.

A DRINK driver found to be double the legal limit was hit with a £400 fine.

Graeme Heeney, 42, drove a Ford Transit van in Stanway in January while over the legal alcohol limit.

A roadside test recorded 72mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, more than double the legal limit of 35mcg.

Admitting drink driving, Heeney, of The Crescent, Great Horkesley, was banned from the roads for 20 months, ordered to pay £545 in fines and court costs.

A WOMAN harassed a victim and threw excrement at her front door.

Teresa Jefferies, 59, breached a restraining order put in place in August 2020 by shouting 'go back to your country' and throwing human excrement at her victim's door in Colchester.

She admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour and breaching the restraining order.

Jefferies, of Grinstead Court, Colchester, was made the subject of a longer restraining order and hit with a community order.

She must complete a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement and pay £395 in court costs.

A DANGEROUS driver who also got behind the wheel while over the limit has been hit with a community order.

Vishanu Bhaskaran, 41, was found to have driven dangerously and to be over the legal alcohol limit in Mersea Road, Colchester, in December 2020.

A roadside test recorded 73mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, over the legal limit of 35mcg.

Bhaskaran, of London Road, Colchester, admitted dangerous driving and drink driving.

He was banned from driving for 38 months, must complete 140 hours of unpaid work and pay £200 in court costs.
