A MAN has been arrested after a teenage girl suffered serious injuries in a crash in Colchester.
The 20 year-old, from Leighton Buzzard, handed himself into Luton police station in Bedfordshire on Tuesday evening.
He has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a collision, failing to report a collision, and driving without a licence and without insurance.
He remains in custody for questioning.
It follows a collision on Magnolia Drive, on the Greenstead estate, on Sunday evening.
The victim, a teenage girl on a motorbike, remains in hospital. She is in a stable condition but has injuries which may be life-changing.
Anyone with information about the driver of this vehicle, or anyone who witnessed the incident, or may have relevant CCTV or dash cam footage should call 101, quoting incident number 840 of 28 March.
