A ROOFER who had to be restrained by three police officers after resisting arrest also hurled abuse and made threats.

Shane Bayliss, 28, was arrested after police received reports of a disturbance at a property in Jaywick in January.

Colchester Magistrates’ Court heard he was restrained by three officers and was heard shouting abuse and making threats.

Bayliss of Beach Way, Jaywick, admitted resisting a constable in the execution of their duty.

Elliott Moulster, mitigating, said Bayliss, who had been working as a roofer before the current lockdown, accepted he had acted in a “poor” manner.

“He is the author of his own misfortune and he deeply regrets it,” he said.

He must pay £179 in fines and court costs.
