Hundreds of people joined and helped the family with their efforts.

Search parties were organised in both Friday Woods and the surrounding areas, whilst other residents helped put up posters for the family.

A wildlife group even brought down and set up some cameras in the area of woodland to try to locate little Louie.

But despite the efforts of the community, Louie was found dead.

He had made his way into the army training area located nearby to Friday Woods.

After the tragic news was confirmed, his family have spoken out and thanked the public for all their help and support since Louie’s disappearance.

Mr Baker said: “Thank you everyone for the kind words, and the truly amazing effort everyone put in to help get him home.

“Unfortunately he had got into an Army training area which backs on to Friday Woods.

“This is where there are training trenches which are filled with water this time of year.

“The Army were training in this area when he was found and retrieved for us.

“Louie is now back home and laid to rest.”

Mr Baker added: “Thank you all again for the amazing effort, it will never be forgotten.”
