How long have you lived in the Colchester area?

I've been here for 35 years. My family was brought up here.

What’s your best memory of living here?

I've got very fond memories of the playgrounds in Castle Park.

What do you like most about living here?

It's easy to go for a walk in the countryside, from the front door.

What’s your favourite place for a takeaway?

The fish and chip shop at the junction of Rowhedge and Old Heath Roads.

What’s your favourite pub?

I'd say the Queen Street Brewhouse.

What one thing that has gone do you miss the most?

The Waiting Room, which used to be in Queen Street.

What’s your favourite building in the town?

Hollytrees Museum.

What’s your favourite place to grab a tea or coffee?

Greggs, for good quality, fair trade food that's also cheap!

Where would you go for a special meal?

I'd stay at home because all the good restaurants have gone.

Where’s the best place to go for a walk?

Middlewick.

If you had a magic wand, what one wish would you grant your town?

I'd make the whole of Middlewick a designated wildlife area.

Which three places should anyone visiting make an effort to see?

I'd recommend Firstsite, Wivenhoe and Middlewick Ranges.

It's small, friendly and arty.
