A TERRIFIC trio of young philanthropists have collected hundreds of tasty chocolate treats for frontline workers and vulnerable residents.

Brothers Oakley Stobbs, 7, and Louie, 3, have partnered with their eight-year-old friend Ethan Seager, as part of an inspiring charitable campaign.

The group has set out to collect as many Easter eggs as they can which will eventually be donated to the likes of care homes and hospital wards.

Mum Dani Stobbs, 29, from Colchester, said her sons and their friend have been working extremely hard to gather the haul of chocolate eggs.

She said: “Throughout the first lockdown Oakley wanted to help people, so he raised £621 which he then donated to the NHS.

“This year my children were speaking about Easter and doing something nice for the community.

“They asked who buys older people Easter eggs before saying they would get them some, so we come up with this idea of collecting as many as possible.

“They have been doing loads of different challenges, such as egg and spoon races, football challenges, helping neighbours and cleaning windows to get the eggs.”

Oakley, Louie, and Ethan’s initial target was just 50 eggs, but they have already received more than 150 from generous family members, neighbours, and friends.

Miss Stobbs says the entire family has been taken aback by the trio’s dedication to helping others and hopes they can donate eggs to as many as possible.

She added: “We all feel very proud that at such young ages they are thinking about other people, and Ethan’s mum, Tammy, feels the same.

“It has been a tough time for them all being off school, so it has given them something to concentrate on and the boys feel really good helping people.”
