FAMILY members are shaving their heads to raise awareness and show their support for an “amazing” mum-of-three who has terminal cancer.

Carly Walton, 36, is living with an aggressive form of cervical cancer which is incurable.

Carly had been displaying various symptoms over the past year, and after having extensive tests at hospitals, doctors discovered she had cervical cancer which had spread to other parts of her body.

Carly, of Great Bentley, is currently undergoing chemotherapy to prolong her life.

The treatment is also being carried out to try and make her feel as comfortable as possible.

Like other people who has gone through the treatment, Carly has lost her hair.

So some of her family members have decided to shave their heads to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

And to make Carly feel like she is not going through her battle alone.

Carly’s brother Jesse Hawkins, and Carly’s mum Lorna Walton, 59, are braving the shave on Saturday.

Jesse, 26, from Colchester, who works as a psychic medium at the Paranormal Emporium, said: “She is an inspiration to her family and friends.

“Carly has remained smiling and positive despite being told by doctors that she shall not be winning this battle with cancer.

“Throughout her battle this is the first time we have seen Carly’s beautiful smile falter.”

The pair will be undergoing their head shaves in front of Carly to show that people are just as beautiful without hair.

Jesse added: “Our mission is to raise as much money for our beautiful Carly.

“Carly is a happy, and much loved young lady who has three beautiful daughters called Lottie, Frankie and Nellie.

“We want to share Carly’s journey as much as possible and make sure she knows that she isn’t going through this alone.

“We can sit here and throw words about Carly’s character all day, but no words will ever justify how amazing, loyal and supportive Carly is.”

Carly’s family have launched a GoFundMe page and hope to raise £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The head shave will be streamed live on Facebook, and people can watch via facebook.com/theparanormalemporium.
