AN electric trailer bike will be used to deliver foodbank parcels to vulnerable residents in Greenstead.
The new E Cargo bike delivery services has been secured thanks to partnership between ward councillor Julie Young and charity En-form.
The bike will be used by Lee Pugh to make deliveries to people who are vulnerable or self-isolating on the estate.
Ms Young (Lab) said: "I heard about Lee Pugh and his delivery service and thought this would really help people who struggle to carry their foodbank parcel or who are self isolating.
"I invested some of my locality budget from Essex County Council to fund this.
"Greenstead Foodbank opened in 2019 and is the second most used, those self isolating can’t get to the foodbank to collect much needed help.
"Lee started his deliveries this week and he will also be helping by delivering for Tots to Teens meaning less carbon emissions by delivering by car."

Mr Pugh has been developing the environmentally delivery service as a low cost alternative to big brands like Deliveroo.
He is working with community groups and small businesses based across Colchester to offer a delivery service.
