A MAN was rushed to hospital following a three-vehicle crash on a major Colchester road.
Emergency services were called to the collision in Cowdray Avenue on the A133 shortly after 12.20pm today.
The East of England Ambulance Service sent two ambulances to the scene and transported an injured man to Colchester Hospital for further care.
A spokesman for Essex Police said the casualty suffered with minor injuries and no arrests have been made following the crash.
Police officers partially blocked the road in both directions while they waited for recovery vehicles to arrive.
Firefighters were also called to the accident.
An Essex County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews reported that nobody was trapped in their vehicles and firefighters worked to make the scene safe by 12:55pm.”
Early turn are currently at an RTC on Cowdray Avenue, Colchester. 3 vehicles involved, 1 had been taken to Hospital for their injuries.

Traffic remains heavy between North Station Road and Waitrose in both directions.
Following the incident, Colchester councillor Mark Goacher said he believes the speed limit for the road should be reduced.
The Castle Ward councillor said: “I don’t know the circumstances of the accident at this stage.
“However, I do think the speed limit really needs to be lowered to 30mph for people’s safety.”
The speed limit for the road is currently 40mph.
