DRIVERS should prepare for delays during several weeks of roadworks in Stanway.

Western Approach will initially close from the Western Approach roundabout to the Essex Yeomanry Way roundabout.

The same road will then be shut from the London Road roundabout to the Western Approach roundabout.

The first closure is due to take effect from March 2 and last until June 22.

The second is scheduled from August 6 until September 17.

Carriageway widening works are being undertaken by Walker Construction but an alternative route is available via Western Approach, London Road, Tollgate Roundabout, Essex Yeomanry Way, the Halstead Road roundabout, A1124 Halstead Road, the A12 slip from Stanway, the A12 slip to Stanway and Essex Yeomanry Way.

  • New speed restrictions are being introduced in Great Bentley.

A 20mph zone will now apply on the Admirals Green development and affect Michael Wright Way, from its junctions with Heckfords Road, Pump Lane and Hills Close.

Meanwhile, the existing 30mph speed limit is being extended in Heckfords Road.

The new rules will come into operation on March 8.

n Meanwhile, Heckfords Road, in Great Bentley, will temporarily close from a point near its junction with Moors Close.

The closure is scheduled to start on March 8 for two days, while resurfacing works are undertaken by Collier & Son.

An alternative route is available via Heckfords Road, Colchester Road, Shair Lane, The Tye Road and Weeley Road.

  • Look out for a road closure in Holland-on-Sea.

Fleetwood Avenue is shutting from the junctions with Oakwood Avenue and Briarwood Avenue.

It will be closed from March 1 for five days while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Briarwood Avenue, Park Boulevard, Grenfell Avenue, Oakwood Avenue and Fleetwood Avenue.

  • Cadent is carrying out connection work in Tiptree.

It means Station Road will be closed from its junction with Cherry Chase and Gate House Mews for two days from March 6.

An alternative route is available via Station Road, Maldon Road and Church Road.

  • Look out for another road closure in Ventnor Drive, Clacton.

The road will be shut from its junction with St Helens Avenue to the junction with Lymington Avenue for three days from March 3.

It’s because of footway patching works and an alternative route is available via Lymington Avenue and St Helens Avenue.

  • Overnight road closures are being planned in Thorpe.

High Street and Colchester Road and closing from the junction with Tendring Road to the junction with Landermere Road.

Work is due to start on February 24 and last for a week, with the road closed from 7.30pm until 5am.

The closure is required while carriageway repair works are undertaken.
