JUST one part of Colchester has seen a rise in its Covid rates compared with a week earlier, figures reveal.

A map created by the Government shows the number of Covid cases and the infection rate in each part of Colchester.

The figures, from the week to February 10, show just one part of the town has seen a rise in its infection rate compared with a week earlier.

West Bergholt and Wormingford has seen its infection rate jump by 50 per cent in the seven days to February 10.

Every other part of Colchester has seen a drop compared with a week earlier.

Stanway has seen the biggest drop, of 81.8 per cent, whilst Wivenhoe and University continues to have the lowest infection rate.

  • Monkwick - 164.5 (down 41.4 per cent)
  • Old Heath & Rowhedge - 152.4 (down 26.3 per cent)
  • Parson's Heath - 150.6 (down 55.3 per cent)
  • Marks Tey & Wakes Colne - 138.4 (down 20 per cent)
  • Layer-de-la-Haye, Abberton & Mersea East - 119.2 (down 9.1 per cent)
  • Horkesley Heath, Langham & Dedham - 111.9 (down 46.7 per cent)
  • Stanway - 109.5 (down 81.8 per cent)
  • Mile End & Braiswick - 107.5 (down 59 per cent)
  • New Town & Hythe - 106.4 (down 46.4 per cent)
  • West Mersea - 96.1 (down 30 per cent)
  • Greenstead - 95.7 (down 61.8 per cent)
  • Central Colchester - 86.1 (down 65.5 per cent)
  • Shrub End - 84 (down 71.4 per cent)
  • Prettygate & Westlands - 82 (down 50 per cent)
  • Highwoods - 80.5 (down 46.7 per cent)
  • Lexden - 70.6 (down 66.7 per cent)

Colchester's average infection rate in the week to February 11 was 101.2 cases per 100,000 people.

This is down from 216.7 cases per 100,000 people a week earlier.
