PLANS have been submitted for 30 'start-up' business units in Ardleigh.

RVL Properties has applied to Tendring Council to create the general industrial and storage and distribution units at Systematic Business Park, off Old Ipswich Road.

The site is behind the business park's Palletways building and neighbours the Blu Barns Business Park.

A planning statement by the developer said the buildings will be contemporary in nature and that there would be more tan 160 parking spaces.

It added: "The application site offers an opportunity to develop an empty site in a sustainable location, with great accessibility, serviced by the A12 and A120.

"The application is sustainably located and suitable for commercial development of this kind.

"The scale and mass of the development is sympathetic to its surrounding by complimenting the existing building fronting Old Ipswich Road.

"The proposal offers an opportunity to provide smaller, more flexible commercial buildings, delivering a higher number of smaller adaptable commercial premises.

"The approach is more sustainable than the existing permission which provides a single user commercial unit, limiting the number of potential future tenants with a smaller pool of end users."

It added that there is limited impact on the Grade II listed 18th Century Blue Barns Farmhouse, next to the Blue Barns Business Park.

A decision is expected to be made by Tendring Council by April 14.
