RESIDENTS have been showing their support for Essex Police officers following a humorous social media post.

Essex Police posted pictures of two of their officers yesterday (February 1) on their Braintree District Facebook page showing the pair tackling the trouble of a flat tyre.

Officers PC Clarke and PC Frost were patrolling on Bures when they were left feeling deflated by the puncture.

Despite their bad luck, the pair were feeling optimistic about the repair.

Although Essex Police poked fun at the incident, the post also appealed for residents to show their support with likes and comments.

The post said: "After an early start and a busy day, the last thing PC Clarke and PC Frost needed while on patrol in Bures was a flat tyre.

"As ever though they remained optimistic.

"Once they'd realised the police weren't going to rescue them because they were the police, and once PC Clarke broke the news to PC Frost that he'd never changed a wheel, PC Frost stepped up into an advisory capacity and told PC Clarke how to do it (whilst taking a photo for the office wall).

"Give them a like for their efforts today."

The reaction to the post was substantial with a more than 550 like, laughing and love reactions.

The post also got more than 55 comments from residents showing their support and laughing along with Essex Police.
