THE River Colne burst its banks last week causing flooding in some of the area's villages.

The village of Wakes Colne, which is just one of many villages sitting alongside the river, was partly underwater as the river overflowed.

Photographer, Louise Bradley-Flack, was able to capture some pictures of the high waters.

It comes after multiple flood warnings from the Government.

In the weeks leading to the flood, the Government issued an urgent flood warning along the Colne which eventually saw multiple flooded roads and streams in Halstead, Earls Colne and the surrounding areas.

Yesterday, a flood alert, which means flooding is possible and people should be prepared, was also issued to the River Colne.
