Paramedics treated an elderly man who was injured on a busy road in Colchester.
The ambulance service was called to Cunobelin Way shortly after 3.30pm on Wednesday following reports a man had been hurt.
A rapid response vehicle, an ambulance and an ambulance officer vehicle were sent to the scene.
Police also attended the scene and closed the road.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "Crews treated a male patient at the scene before transporting him to Colchester Hospital for further assessment and care."
