A MUM has taken to creating free workout videos after being put on furlough to help support those struggling during the pandemic.

Lisa-Maria Kirwan, 32, posts daily workouts on her This Fit Mum page on Instagram and YouTube.

Lisa, who has 22,000 followers on Instagram, started posting videos after being put on furlough from her HR job last year.

Throughout lockdown she has been creating free workout videos online as well as hosting bootcamps on Abbey Fields in Colchester when rules allowed.

For Lisa the first lockdown was the motivation to develop one of her passions.

“I have been into fitness for a while,” she said.

“I have a low thyroid count and struggled to lose weight after having my children.

“When I was furloughed from my job in HR and recruitment, I took it upon myself to do my qualifications in personal training.

“In lockdown I really struggled myself, but my fitness helped me keep really busy and it helped people stay sane during lockdown.

“I really wanted to help people get moving and keep busy.”

Lisa varies her workouts to suit everyone from beginners to fellow fitness fanatics.

Those who take part also have a WhatsApp group where they offer support and share advice.

Lisa also likes to keep it real by showing her family life, including cameo appearances from her daughter Molly, six, and son Paddy, three.

She added: “Sometimes my kids are joining in - I am showing the reality of working out at home as a mum who is home schooling.

“At first I was a bit worried about showing it, but it is relatable.

“We are mums working out at home doing the best we can with what we have got.

“It is such a supportive community.”

Lisa’s workouts are streamed every morning at 10am.

They can also be watched later on YouTube.
