A NEW venue which combines the charm of an art studio and a hair salon has opened in Colchester against all the odds of the pandemic.
The Art House, in the Seedbed Centre in Wyncolls Road is a small business which is part of the Green Salon Collective which recycles everything from hair cuttings to tint tubes.
Owner Verity Clarke, who started her business in 2019, used the Bounce Back Loan Scheme – the only Government support she was eligible for during the pandemic – to take a leap of faith.
Verity, 32, is a Manic Panic sponsored hair artist who who covers all aspects of hairdressing. She has more than ten years of experience including working on photoshoots, stage and shows.
She said it was “a place to design, create, laugh and interact with no boundaries, no worries and no judgement.”
