A HAIR and beauty salon is using its premises as a festive base for an outdoor Christmas pop up market.

The Station Hair and Beauty Salon, in High Street, Mistley, has been inundated with applications from businesses wanting to sell products at the pop up huts outside the salon.

Glynne and Jessica Gerrard, the owers of the salon, will not be charging buyers for the use of their waterproof covered huts.

Glynne said: "As initially stated we are not charging for this and no commission will be taken.

"This is something we wanted to give to the local community, this year has been a bit of a tough one for many of us so we wanted to finish it with something positive.

"As these are outdoor huts it will of course be subject to weather, meaning that if awful winds and or storms are forecast we may have to cancel, we would of course endeavour to give plenty of notice but hopefully this will not happen.

"Unfortunately due to the high demand of people wanting to take part we might not be able to offer you alternative day.

"If for some reason you realise you can no longer attend and use the hut please, please let us know with plenty of notice, it would be awful to have an empty hut with so many people wanting to use one."

The huts will be open on each Friday and Saturday in December between 9am and 4pm if the weather allows it.

Each hut will have a table and chair and lighting is also provided, but there will be no access to electricity and buyers will have to have their own payment facilities in place.

Glynne added: "Please share and feel free to come along and show your support for these local small businesses."
