COLCHESTER'S coronavirus infection rate has risen slightly since the weekend, with 134 cases confirmed in a week.

The coronavirus infection rate in Colchester stands at 68.8 cases per 100,000 people with 134 new cases confirmed in a week.

The figures, for the seven days to November 27, are based on tests carried out in laboratories and in the wider community.

This up from 65.2 in the seven days ending November 5 from the seven days to November 24.

Rates are expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people.

In Tendring the infection rate is 55.9, with 82 cases confirmed over the same period.

A map has also revealed the most affected parts of Colchester, with a new area at the top of the list with the most cases.

It shows the areas most at risk, with the highest infection rates, with rising infection rates are Lexden, Prettygate and Westlands and Old Heath and Rowhedge.

Greenstead has had the most cases over the past 12 days.
