COLCHESTER'S coronavirus infection rate has fallen slightly, with 193 cases being confirmed in the latest seven day period.

The coronavirus infection rate in Colchester stands at 99.1 cases per 100,000 people with 193 new cases confirmed in a week.

The figures, for the seven days to November 6, are based on tests carried out in laboratories and in the wider community.

This up from 106.3 in the seven days ending November 5.

Rates are expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people.

In Tendring the infection rate has risen again to 63.5, up from 62.1, with 93 cases confirmed over the same period.

A map has also revealed the most affected parts of Colchester, with a new area at the top of the list with the most cases.

Mile End and Braiswick is still the worst affected ward, with 24 cases, with Parson's Heath in second with 20.

Abbey Field's case numbers have risen to 18.

The ward remains the most affected area by population size in Colchester, with a rolling seven-day rate of 228.7.

Case numbers have also risen in wards like Monwick and Shrub End.
