A MAN caught more than double the drink drive limit has been given a two year ban from the roads.

Laszlo Csiki was in Straight Road, Colchester, last week in a Suzuki SX4 when he was found to have 73mgs of alcohol per 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35.

The 43-year-old of Peartree Road, Stanway, admitted drink driving and driving a vehicle where the registration plate lamp was not in good working order when he appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court.

Csiki was also given 120 hours of unpaid work.

  • A MAN has been banned from driving for three years after being caught three times the alcohol limit.

Richard Hardes was caught drink driving in Turner Road, Colchester, in a Volvo XC70 in August.

The 48-year-old had 130mcgs of alcohol per 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35.

Hardes, of Mill Road, Colchester, admitted drink driving at Colchester Magistrates' Court.

He must also complete 200 hours of unpaid work and 20 rehabilitation days and pay £200 in court fees.

  • A DRUG driver has been fined £392 and banned from the roads for a year.

Jake Deacon had an illegal amount of a cannabis derivative in his system in Abbott's Road, Colchester, while behind the wheel of a Peugeot 206 in February.

The 21-year-old, of Crestlands, Colchester, admitted drug driving at Colchester Magistrates' Court.

He must also pay £105 costs and a £39 victim surcharge.

  • A MAN was fined £40 after being caught with cannabis.

Alex Cantlow, of Parsons Field, Dedham, had the drugs in May and admitted possession at Colchester Magistrates' Court.

The 26-year-old must pay a further £145 in costs and a £34 victim surcharge.

The drugs will be destroyed.

  • A MAN was caught with cannabis twice in a fortnight.

Daniel Green admitted two counts of possession of class B drugs when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates' Court.

The 30-year-old, of Honywood Close, Marks Tey, was fined £160 and ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge. The drugs will be destroyed.

  • A MAN has been ordered to pay for the cost of damage he caused to a car.

Adam Egg admitted criminal damage and assault at Colchester Magistrates' Court.

The 28-year-old, of Bramley Close, Colchester, must pay £221.13 after causing damage to the wing mirror of a Vauxhall Astra.

He was fined £160 for the assault and must pay £137 in other court charges.

  • A MOTORIST is facing a lengthy spell off the roads after driving off following a crash and then being caught drug driving.

Alex Mills crashed a van in Mersea Road, Colchester, last August, smashing into a lamppost and injuring a passenger.

The 30-year-old failed to stop after the crash.

Then four months later he was found to be driving a different vehicle with an illegally high level of cocaine in his system.

Mills, of Frating Road, Great Bromley, admitted driving without due care and attention, failing to stop after an accident at drug driving at Colchester Magistrates' Court.

He was given driving bans totalling three-and-a-half years.

Mills was fined £720 and must pay £200 costs.

  • A MAN was fined £80 after being caught with a small bag of cannabis.

Reece Johnson, of Fingringhoe Road, Colchester, had the drugs in January and admitted possession at Colchester Magistrates' Court.

The 28-year-old must pay a further £145 in costs and a £34 victim surcharge.

The drugs will be destroyed.
