A SUSPECTED drink driver left a van mangled by the side of the A12 after a late night crash.
Police were called to the trunk road close to the junction for the JobServe Community Stadium at midnight on Thursday after the smash.
A vehicle left the road and ended up on the verge.
A man was taken to custody after roadside checks showed he had 66mcgs of alcohol per 100mls of breath.
The legal limit is 35.
PC Jon Hardy from the Stanway Roads Policing Unit said: B shift have been dealing with another drink driver who has crashed their van on the A12 at Colchester.
"The driver was arrested after blowing 66 at the roadside."
