DEDICATED workers at an insurance firm have raised more than £3,000 for a hospice.
Hiscox, based in Middleborough, Colchester, has been supporting St Helena Hospice this year.
But with many fundraising events postponed or changed they have had to go the extra mile to support the vital service.
On the virtual London Marathon day employees laced up their running shoes for two different challenges.
Roxanne Simmons, Michael Dear, Mo Rahman, Lewis Pettitt, Bethany Longman, Lyndsey Stocking and Alex Brice all took part in the socially-distanced Nuclear Races at Kelvedon Hatch nuclear bunker.
They tackled more than 50 challenging obstacles over a 7k distance.
Flic Keeble-Lennox ran in the virtual London Marathon.
Both events were in the driving wind and rain, but both challenges were completed, raising a total of £3,000 for the hospice.
A spokesman for Hiscox said: “Fundraising this year has certainly been a challenge with staff working from home and events being cancelled but Hiscox hope to be able to continue to raise money where they can for this incredible charity.”
