A MAN who assaulted three police officers has avoided a jail term.

Aaron Sharp admitted three counts of assault on an emergency worker when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates' Court.

The 25-year-old, of no fixed address, was handed an 18 week jail sentence suspended for a year and must complete 280 hours of unpaid work.

Sharp must also pay £300 compensation, £105 costs and a £128 victim surcharge.

A TEENAGE drug driver has been banned from the roads for a year.

Nicola Burch, 19. was driving a Ford KA in Queen Elizabeth Way, Colchester, in April and was found to have Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in her blood - a derivative of cannabis.

Burch admitted drug driving at Colchester Magistrates' Court.

On top of her driving ban, Burch, of Monkwick Avenue, Colchester, was fined £320 and must pay £105 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.

A MAN caught with amphetamine has been fined £80.

David Siuda, of Colne Road, Clacton, admitted having the drugs in Colchester in September last year when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates' Court.

The 30-year-old must pay another £137 in court charges.

He was fined another £80 after admitting breaching a suspended sentence order.

A MAN caught with crack and heroin has been fined £300.

Adam Williams admitted possession of class A drugs at Colchester Magistrates' Court and must also pay £137 in court fees.

The 38-year-old, of Old Heath Road, Colchester, was also told the drugs will be destroyed.

A DRINK driver caught more than three times the limit has been given a two year band from the roads.

Colin Fitch, 64, had 110mcgs of alcohol per 100mls of breath while driving a Honda Civic near his home in Keelers Way, Great Horkesley, in August.

He admitted drink driving at Colchester Magistrates' Court.

Fitch was also fined £200 and ordered to pay £137 in court fees.
