A WOMAN was treated by worried bar staff after suffering serious injuries when she was “thrown from a car”.

Workers at the Barn Pub and passersby rushed to the aid of the woman after the incident in Frobisher Way, Shoebury, on Tuesday morning.

Witnesses reported the woman suffered various injuries such as a broken arms and cuts on to her hands.

Police say they received reports of a woman holding onto a moving vehicle.

But despite searching the area the victim has not been located.

Laura Shaw, manager of the pub praised her quick thinking staff who jumped into action to help the woman.

She said: “I was told a woman was pushed from a car and our staff got her a chair to sit on.

“We called police and an ambulance arrived too. She sat down outside the pub.

“It seems like a random incident but I am proud of my staff for helping her out.”

The 36-year-old added: “There was also other people who came to help too so there was a bit of a community effort.”

A number of worried residents posted on Facebook about the incident.

One woman who asked to be anonymous said: “The car was allegedly doing in excess of 50mph and the car door opened and she was thrown out.

“People reported that she hit ground with a thud and suffered a broken arm.”

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We received a concern for welfare report that a woman was seen holding on to the outside of a vehicle as it drove away in Frobisher Way, Southend on Tuesday 22 September at around 10.50am.

“We attended but the woman could not be located to speak to.”
