A NEW coffee shop owner is offering hungry officer workers a place to get their lunches and a caffeine fix.

While cafes across the country are struggling to survive in a post-lockdown world, Sarah Smy is hoping to buck the trend with her new venture on Severalls Business Park in Colchester.

Sarah’s Coffee Shop, based in The Crescent welcomed their first customers on Monday.

The shop is a brand-new venture for mum-of-two Sarah whose background is in accountancy.

She said: “My vision to open up a coffee shop has been a long time in the making.

“Maternity leave is coming to an end and I wanted a change. Having my own coffee shop has always been in the back of my mind and it is now becoming a reality.

“I’m thrilled to have opened Sarah’s Coffee Shop and started meeting customers from the business park who are returning to their offices post-lockdown.”

The coffee shop offers a range of refreshments including coffees, teas and soft drinks as well as lunch items such as sandwiches, crisps, pastries and homemade cakes which are available in a meal deal.

Sarah added: “I want the shop to be somewhere that employees from a range of businesses across the park can come to grab a coffee on their way into the office or pick up a bite to eat for their lunch.

“The space is fun, modern and offers a limited ‘eat in’ availability for those that wish to use it as well as free Wi-Fi for customers.

“Having worked on this business park myself, I know that it is lacking a high-quality coffee shop and Sarah’s Coffee Shop is here to fill that gap.”

Sarah’s Coffee Shop is open for business on weekdays from 7.45am until 2.30pm.
