A WOMAN who tragically died in a crash on a housing estate was thrown out of a car before being hit by another vehicle, it has been claimed.

Linda Franklin, 39, was involved in the crash in Avon Way, Colchester, on August 27.

Her inquest was opened at Essex Coroner’s Court, where it was revealed Ms Franklin had allegedly been thrown out of a car.

Coroner’s assistant Marianne Robson said: “Ms Franklin was a passenger in a vehicle travelling along Avon Way when she was allegedly ejected from the vehicle.

“She was then struck by another vehicle.

“Police became involved and an investigation is ongoing.”

In the hours after the crash police arrested David Jankovic in Sudbury, He has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

The 23-year-old, of no fixed address will next appear at Ipswich Crown Court on September 28.

Area coroner Lincoln Brookes said: “I read a suspect has been charged with death by dangerous driving.

“If there is to be an inquest, we will need a Post Mortem, histology, toxicology, information from the police investigation and perhaps some evidence from the family.”
